A warm-water hydrotherapy pool with twelve massage stations, ultraviolet treatment and a plant room built for near-silent running.
The brief
A 34 degree hydrotherapy pool for a treatment wing where noise, humidity and chlorine smell all had to be kept out of the adjoining rooms.
What we built
A 10 x 5 metre shell with twelve seated massage stations on three booster circuits, medium-pressure ultraviolet treatment to cut chemical demand, and a plant room acoustically isolated on anti-vibration mounts behind a double door lobby.
The result
Measured 38 decibels in the treatment room next to the plant wall. Chlorine consumption is around a third of a conventionally dosed pool of the same volume, and the retreat books the pool out for physiotherapy sessions six days a week.
