Infinity Edge Villa, Peyia
A 14 x 4 metre overflow pool cut into a sloping hillside plot, with a glass-mosaic waterline and a sea horizon that the edge disappears into.
The brief
The owners wanted a pool that read as a single sheet of water against the sea, on a plot that dropped almost two metres across its width. That ruled out a conventional skimmer pool and meant the whole structure had to be engineered around a balance tank hidden below the terrace.
What we built
A reinforced concrete shell with a 14 metre overflow lip, finished in a graduated blue glass mosaic so the water reads darker as it gets deeper. The plant room sits behind a retaining wall with a variable-speed pump, a 750mm sand filter and a 13kW inverter heat pump, all controllable from the owners phones while they are off the island.
The result
Eleven weeks from excavation to handover. Running costs came in roughly 40 percent below the original specification thanks to the variable-speed pump and a 500 micron solar cover, and we now maintain the pool on a weekly plan.
